Making Your Cycling Fun

Go somewhere you’ve never been before.

Do you ever crave that sense of adventure? Get out your map (or GPS) and pick out somewhere exciting that’s within cycling distance. The only catch is that it must be somewhere you’ve never been before.

You’ll see and experience new things – both during your journey and once you’

Take part in a race.

It may be you need more of a challenge to shake things up a little, so why not consider a race? You’ll be able to try out a fun route against like-minded individuals as you race from A to B.

It doesn’t matter if you win or lose. What is important is that you had fun taking part!

Don’t be afraid to go off track.
If you’re sticking to the same old routes and roads, that’s probably why you’re finding yourself a little bored with your cycling routine.

Don’t be afraid to take a new path, head down an alley, bike over a dusty dirt path or take the long way to your destination. You’ll see new things and learn more about your area, giving you a more open minded approach to your day.

Keep a journal.

Try writing about your adventures on your bamboo bike. Where did you go? What did you see? What did you like about it? Was there anything you disliked? Would you go again?

Not only will keeping a journal provide a collection of happy memories of your adventures, but it’ll also be a reminder of your favorite journeys, encouraging you to take the trip again in the future.

Take up photography.

If writing isn’t your think, what about taking some photos? Grab a camera (or even use the built-in camera on your smartphone) and take some pictures of each place you ride your bike to.

Share them on social media, add them to a folder or even have them printed out to keep a fun record of everywhere you and your bamboo bike have gone to together.

Ride at different times of the day.

Riding your bike at a different time of day can be a whole new experience, giving you a refreshing look at the world around you. Different kinds of people will be out, and the weather (and light) will vary, letting you see your area with brand new eyes.

Stop and take in how different everything looks and appreciate the beauty around you.

But remember to add safety lights to your bike when riding at night!

Get a new bike.

If your bike is getting a little old, rusty and unreliable, it may be time for something new. You’ll have hours of fun choosing new designs, materials, colors, accessories and more – so take the time to create the bike of your dreams that you’ll be sure to have fun riding around the town on.

Bonus tip: Why not make things even more exciting by building your new bike yourself?! You’ll get to enjoy a fun yet challenging project with a final result that you’ll enjoy for years to come.
